Artist Inspiration and Style of Work Several years into his career, Alberto Escamilla began an in-depth study of the lives and works of the European Master, especially those of the French Impressionist, or the "Independents" as they preferred to be called. Because he felt such a strong connection with the way these artists believed and painted, Alberto Escamilla focused on mastering their techniques. From this point forward, his work entered a new dimension which gave rise to his own experimentation with color. Using small brushes and taps of paint on the canvas, the artist continually works on mastering the blending of colors, the definitive brushstrokes, and his choice of subject matter to replicate the impressionistic style which he believes offers the viewer a sense of beauty and tranquility of God’s world. He has named his painting style as "Escamillaism”
